Who we are

Ember Media LLC designs and builds websites and software for small businesses. We are at 1204 Orchid Dr, Harvey, LA 70058.

To ask us anything about your information, message us in your client portal, or write to emdevelops@gmail.com. That inbox is read by a person. The address hello@emdevelops.com only sends mail and nobody reads replies to it.

What we collect, and where it comes from

We only collect what somebody gives us or what the site has to record to work.

If you ask us for a quote. Your name, your business name, your phone number, your email address, what you are after and anything you typed in the message box. We also record the internet address your request came from and which browser sent it, so that one script cannot flood the form.

If you use the contact form on our company page. Your name, your email address, your message and which of the two lanes you picked. We do not store the internet address for this one; it is held in memory for about a minute to stop repeat sends and then it is gone.

If you build a free mockup. Your email address, so you can come back to it, and whatever you typed: your business name, the kind of business, your town, your phone number, what you offer, your opening lines and your colours. Any photo or video you upload is kept in our file storage under a folder that only you and we can open. We also keep a tiny sample of your logo's colours so that the matching still works when you come back.

If you sign in. Your email address. We send a one time link and you press it. There are no passwords anywhere in this system, so there is no password of yours for anybody to steal from us.

If you become a client. The answers you give us about your business, the photos and documents you upload, the messages in your thread, what you have agreed to and when, and what you have paid.

If somebody books with one of our clients. Their name, and their phone number or email address if they gave one, with the service and the time. This is our client's customer record. We hold it for the client, on their booking page, and the client decides what happens with it.

If somebody presses a tracked link or scans one of our QR codes. That the press happened, which link it was and when. Nothing about the person: no internet address, no browser, no cookie.

If we emailed you first. Your business name and the public contact details listed for your business, which we collected from public listings. Every one of those emails carries our postal address and a line telling you how to stop them. Reply and we stop, and we mark you do not contact.

Why we collect it

To answer you, to build and run what you asked us to build, to show you what we have done, to bill you for work you agreed to, and to keep a record of what was agreed. We do not build a profile of you and we do not use any of it to target advertising at you.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of companies to run the service. Each of them sees only what it needs to do its job.

Supabase holds the database and the uploaded files.

Vercel hosts the site and counts page views on the public pages.

Resend sends our email.

Stripe takes payments and sends invoices. Card details are typed on Stripe's own page. No card number ever reaches this site or our database.

Anthropic sees a message and a business name when an admin asks for a draft reply, or a business name, a kind of business and a town when an admin asks for local events near a client. Nothing is sent to anybody because of it. A person reads and edits everything before it goes out.

Google and Meta only when a client grants us access to their own advertising account or business listing. We never hold a client's login. What we hold is a record of which access has been granted and when.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anybody for their own advertising. We would hand something over if the law required it, and we would tell you unless we were not allowed to.

How long we keep it

We keep what you gave us while we are working together, and afterwards as a business record: what was agreed, what was paid, and the conversation about the work. Messages in a thread cannot be edited or deleted by anybody, including us. That is on purpose, so that neither side can quietly change what was said.

A free mockup is yours. You can delete it and its photos yourself from the builder at any time, and once you do, the private preview link stops working.

If you ask us to delete something else, we will, except where we have to keep it to settle a bill or because the law says so.

Asking for a copy, or for it to be deleted

Message us in your portal or write to emdevelops@gmail.com. We will answer within 30 days, and usually much sooner than that. We may ask you to confirm who you are first, because handing somebody's details to the wrong person is the one mistake we cannot undo.

If you are one of our clients' customers and you want your booking details removed, ask the business you booked with. It is their record. If you cannot reach them, tell us and we will pass it on.

Cookies

We set one kind of cookie: the sign in cookie that keeps you signed in to the portal. It is set when you sign in and cleared when you sign out. We set no advertising cookie and no tracking cookie, and we do not let anybody else set one on our site.

Vercel counts page views on our public pages so we know which pages people read.

Children

This site is for business owners. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you think a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will change the date at the top. If a change matters to you, for example if we started using a new company to run part of the service, we will say so in the portal rather than quietly editing the page.
